June 2020
Sharing the message of Jesus' love city by city, town by town, village by village, home by home and person by person.
Hi Everyone,

As lockdown starts to relax it feels like we are entering another new season. We are allowed to meet in groups of 6, shops are opening and churches can open for prayer! We continue to move and change with the times.

We are thrilled that 32,000 copies of the HOPE for All magazine are being distributed in prisons throughout the UK as part of a gift package for prisoners in lockdown, put together by the charity Junction 42. Several large orders of the magazine have also been placed, as churches have sought to serve their communities during the Covid-19 crisis.

This season has given opportunities as well as challenges. Hope for Every Home has needed to adapt, like many other organisations. Due to funding cuts, we have had to restructure our core team, to work smarter with our remaining resources.

Alongside the magazine, we have focused on creating new, digital resources, which can be shared online. These include videos to mobilise volunteers; interviews to back up our magazine features, a new website developing hopeinfo.org.uk to help non-Christians explore faith in the digital space; an online Hope Space; a Virtual Fun Days pack and a digital version of our new give-away booklet Hope for Uncertain Times. We will be in touch again soon with details of when these digital resources are available.

During this time, we have seen an amazing response from the local church. We have heard many stories of how you are blessing and engaging with your local communities. Please do keep sending us your stories as they are so encouraging!

Read on to see how praying can change your street and for special offers!

Virtual Fun Day Pack

Church fetes and fun days are going to look a little different this year due to social distancing guidelines. But we believe we can still build community and care for those in our local area during this time!

We have created a Virtual Fun Day pack that you can download now here.
It is packed full of ideas to help you make new connections in your area.
Don’t forget to tag us in your photos, using the #fundays and tagging in @HopeTogether. We’d love to see what you get up to!
Magazines to every home

Thatcham Baptist Church is delivering the Hope for All magazine to every home in their area. The congregation of about 100 had planned to order 5,000 magazines to cover half of the town. But two things expanded their vision. They were joined on their Zoom prayer meeting by one of the church’s missionaries in Ecuador, who prayed that someone in every home in Thatcham would come to Christ. Also HOPE’s Sue Jennens phoned to offer 10,000 magazines for the price of 5,000, so they could reach every home. Pastor of the church, David Taylor, says, ‘I sent a Macedonian appeal to the churches in Newbury to “come over and help us” deliver them.’ The goal is to deliver to every home by the end of July with at least one special delivery evening when members of the local churches will work together to complete the distribution. If you would like to order large quantities of Hope for All at discount prices, contact Sue Jennens at the HOPE office.
